Friday Night Toot Fight

It's not (quite) what you think.

Last Friday night, we're playing in the kitchen (despite all of the other good places to play in the house, the boys always want to play in the kitchen--usually while we're fixing dinner), and somebody (*ahem* Little Brother *ahem*) tooted.

I guess it's a boy thing, but when somebody toots, it's always fun to blame somebody else.

So when Little Brother tooted (it really was him, I swears on the Precious that twasn't me), I blurted out, "Big Brother, did you toot?"

Playing along, he said, "Yeah, I did."

All of a sudden, Little Brother retorts, defensively, "NO! I TOOTED!"

At this point, I just kinda dropped out and faded into the background.

For the next 5 minutes, the two boys proceeded to argue about WHO tooted.

At the peak of the argument, Little Brother even spat at Big Brother. Okay, not so much spat as made a drum-roll with his lips.

I couldn't help but sit back and chuckle to myself.

Ahh, only boys would fight over who WHO TOOTED, and WANT to be the one who actually LET said toot.

Have a good week--better out than in,

  2. I just blame it on the dog. Happy to hear they want to claim it. Was it a spectacular sound? Did the smell linger? Was it something to be proud of? Somethings are worth fighting for.

  3. When I ask my 2YO if he pooped in his diaper, he says no and then blames either his big potty trained sister, his mother or his grandmother.

His sisters reply, I can't poop my pants because I wear panties.

Have you read your kids the book, "Walter The Farting Dog"??

It's an honest to goodness kids book. Check it out, they might enjoy it.

  4. Oh my goodness. Let's make sure we all get credit for our own toots. Haha. My Dad used to do this with burps...he would single out one of us 8 kids to blame his burp on.

  6. This reminds me of a time when little brother wasn't around yet. Big Brother and I were in my old room at Gramm-E and Pap Pap's house where he became glued to the TV. I smelled something, looked over at him and asked "Did you toot?" He instantly begins giggling and says "Yes I do!!!"

That is now the response I get out of Uncle-E.

  7. @Aunt-E: Yep, but if girls could fart, they'd fight over 'em, too. :)

@O'Shea: Funny thing is as farts go, it was pretty unimpressive in all parameters--volume, smell, linger, etc.

@Eric: Have seen the book in the store; will have to check it out.

@Gramm-E: Always gotta have a scapegoat.

@Rosi: I can't see your girls fighting over toots.

@CY-Aunt-E: I loved it when he used to say "Yes I do" instead of "yes I did".
